About the Unit
The Community Outreach Unit of the Lockport Police Department is staffed by 2 police officers. Each officer is assigned different programs they oversee, as well as, department grants for extra enforcement of traffic laws during holidays and other times of the year. In addition, each officer is assigned to various elementary and junior high schools in the City of Lockport. The officer assigned to each school is responsible for acting as a liaison between the school and the police department, and also assists in the mitigation of any issues at the school, which may require police intervention.
The Community Outreach Unit also administers several community programs offered by the police department. Those programs can be found in the Department Services section of this website.
