On August 27th,2014,  the City received Federal Surface Transportation funding through will county Governmental League, in the amount of $1,000,000, for the MacGregor & North Reconstruction Project. This project will include the reconstruction and widening of MacGregor Road, from Shoals to North, the reconstruction of North Street, from MacGregor to Reef, and the repair & resurfacing of North Street, from Reef to Farrell.

The City held an Open House for this project on Tuesday, September 22, from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Public Works & Engineering Facility on Prime Blvd.  There were nine residents who showed up to view the plans and ask questions about the project.

This project will include the reconstruction and widening of MacGregor Road, from Shoals to North, the reconstruction of North Street, from MacGregor to Reef, and the repair & resurfacing of North Street, from Reef to Farrell.  Major work items will include storm sewer installation, curb and gutter construction, paving, sidewalk repair and landscaping restoration.

This project is currently planned for a Spring 2017 letting, with construction to begin around June 1st, 2017, in order to minimize the disruption to the adjacent Walsh Elementary School.

If you were unable to attend the open house, but would like to view the exhibits.  They are available below as a downloadable PDF, or you may request an appointment to speak with the City Engineer at 815-838-0549, ext. 2315.
