Well 15 - Water Treatment Facility
Construction of the Well 15 - Ion Exchange Water Treatment Plant (WTP) was financed by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) with federal funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This project includes the long-term construction of a new Water Treatment Plant (WTP). Improvements made to current piping system will allow connectivity to the new water treatment plant's distribution system.
Once complete, this WTP will improve water quality for the residents and businesses in Lockport by providing higher quality water than the existing wells. SRF programs operate in each state to provide communities the resources necessary to build, Maintain, and improve the infrastructure that protects one of our most valuable resources: water.

June Update: Construction on the first leg of VMT in Lockport has begun. Bruce Road will be closed at the I-355 overpass for the month of June. The contractor (D Construction) anticipates that it will reopen before July 4th. After that, they will be doing the bridge on 167th Street between 355 and Prime Blvd starting on July 5, 2022 it should re-open by August 4, 2022.
